ur Series III Coda R or Corus can be modified to add the Cabrio Docking System so that the head can be removed from the cabinet and used as a stand-alone unit. Here is what is involved:
- The combo must be sent to us for the modification. The cost is $149 plus shipping.
- We remove the electronics from your combo and mount them in a different chassis. There is one complication. If the rear panel of your amp looks like this:
you are ok. If it looks like this:
(note the difference in the power switch), there will be an additional charge of $199 to do the upgrade. The additional charge is due to the fact that we have to replace the power amp in addition to mounting the electronics in a new chassis.
- We add an additional speaker output. The headphone output that is available on the Coda+ and Corus+ is NOT added as part of this upgrade.
- We relocate some wires that pass through the inner baffle of the cabinet.
- We mount the docking panel to the cabinet. The docking panel includes the speaker cable that connects the amp to the cabinet.
- We install the amp head in the cabinet and test.
The upgrade process requires extensive modifications to the speaker cabinet and amplifier. Currently, the upgrade can only be performed at our factory, so customers wanting the upgrade will have to ship their amp to us.
